Media Attacks On Biden Are Really An Indictment Of the GOP

Hard to imagine a more sweeping series of losses for Democrats in court and congress: end of Roe, defeat of climate agenda, loss of budget priorities from child tax credit to family leave to corporate tax, voting rights agenda long stalled. Steep fall from the hopes post-GA Sen wins. – Tweet by Jim Sciutto of CNN

Every day, the media tells us what a disaster Joe Biden’s presidency has become.

Like the above tweet from CNN’s Jim Sciutto, they diligently list everything that’s going on. They hang on every setback. The offer a revolving door of pundits telling you what’s wrong with Biden and question whether he should even run for a second term.

They report on seemingly every poll known to man that shows the president’s approval rating dropping. Of course, they don’t factor in that their constant carping about Biden might be one reason his polls are so low.

Is that what they call a self-fulfilling prophecy?

After the stunning corruption, incompetence, and moral turpitude of the administration of Donald Trump, the media now feels it’s obligated to take every shot – real, imagined, or cheap – that it can at Biden so it won’t be considered bias against Republicans.

As David Pfeiffer wrote in his book, Battling the Big Lie, How Fox, Facebook, and the MAGA Media Are Destroying America: “After years of tough coverage on Donald Trump, the political press wanted, needed, to prove to Republicans and themselves that they weren’t going to give Joe Biden a free pass. The problem for the press is that Joe Biden is not Donald Trump. …  Being as tough on Biden as they were on Trump means creating controversies where there are none.”

Well said.

About Rick Elia

Rick Elia wrote for a newspaper for over 20 years, until he stopped doing that. After that he did some (mostly perfectly legal) stuff we don’t want to talk about. He started writing Facebook posts as therapy for the trauma of the 2016 presidential election. One day he came up with the idea of putting his writings into a blog. So he did. Previously, he created two other blogs: The Folks from Patterson Avenue: http://www.pattersonavenue.blogspot.com 3 Dog Productions Video Village: http://www.3dogproductions.blogspot.com
