Read the Damn Indictment Yet? Now Read the Damn Memo

Special Counsel Jack Smith

In case you need more proof that Donald Trump and his half-dozen co-conspirators had a concrete plan to overturn the 2020 election – as opposed to the Right’s absurd claim that this is a free speech issue – we now have it coming right from one of the horse’s (jackass’s) mouth.

The New York Times published a previously unknown campaign memo, dated Dec. 6, 2020, from Attorney Kenneth Chesebro, whom the Times identifies as one of Trump’s unindicted co-conspirators listed in his indictment.

The memo outlines the fraudulent electors plot explained by Special Counsel Jack Smith in his indictment of Trump. Only in this case, an actual participant explains the plan and its ultimate goal of keeping Trump in office. It’s a chilling recount of the historic behind-the scenes corruption that aimed to thwart our democracy and overturn the will of the people.

About Rick Elia

Rick Elia wrote for a newspaper for over 20 years, until he stopped doing that. After that he did some (mostly perfectly legal) stuff we don’t want to talk about. He started writing Facebook posts as therapy for the trauma of the 2016 presidential election. One day he came up with the idea of putting his writings into a blog. So he did. Previously, he created two other blogs: The Folks from Patterson Avenue: http://www.pattersonavenue.blogspot.com 3 Dog Productions Video Village: http://www.3dogproductions.blogspot.com

The memo makes me nervous. It reads more like a plausible, albeit sketchy, legal option rather than something illegal. But I suppose this is just one piece of the puzzle and taken by itself doesn’t really address the illegalities. Thoughts appreciated?

Well, it’s not enough on it’s own because it’s like you said an opinion. When they line it up with the facts of what happened it will hopefully reinforce the case and show that this was a thought-out plan, not anything spontaneous. And the more thought-out and discussed it was the harder it is to believe that Trump was blissfully unaware that this was going on, if his lawyers decide to make that claim.

One of many points is that Pence made it clear before January 6 that he had his counsel review not counting the legitimate electors and determined it wasn’t constitutional yet Trump kept moving forward and pressuring Pence to the point his followers damn near hung Pence.

Yeah. That’s evidence that he was told.
