The $64,000 Question

In my state of Pennsylvania, U.S. Senate candidate John Fetterman is getting a good amount of attention for his trolling of his GOP opponent/political carpetbagger Dr. Mehmet Oz.

He’s put out some funny stuff. What appears to be the New Jerseyite Oz’s search for a soft landing in a state where he has a better chance of winning than where he’s actually lived for years is certainly a legitimate issue to exploit. Fetterman would be an idiot not to.

But, to the tell you the truth, I’m more interested in a recent op-ed by Fetterman on the GoErie website titled, “To Fight Inflation, Let’s Make More Stuff in America.”

This is no knock on the Oz attacks, which are great. It’s just that an even bigger argument against Oz than where he lives is the damage to our country that will result by giving the Senate majority to a corrupt Republican Party that has no plans, no policies, and no real interest in governing.

Look at the GOP. All it has are lies, insults, ginning up hate, and protecting the corporations and rich donors who give them money. Just listen and see if they offer any legitimate answers for the problems they keep blaming on President Joe Biden. Check out their array of vile personal attacks and their blatant attempts to divide us along race, cultural, and class lines.

They’ve got nothing.

About Rick Elia

Rick Elia wrote for a newspaper for over 20 years, until he stopped doing that. After that he did some (mostly perfectly legal) stuff we don’t want to talk about. He started writing Facebook posts as therapy for the trauma of the 2016 presidential election. One day he came up with the idea of putting his writings into a blog. So he did. Previously, he created two other blogs: The Folks from Patterson Avenue: http://www.pattersonavenue.blogspot.com 3 Dog Productions Video Village: http://www.3dogproductions.blogspot.com
