They tell me that there was a time when just about nothing was more important to the Republican Party than having a strong military.
This was actually a GOP talking point used against Democrats, who they’d claim were a danger to our armed forces and military readiness. They actually said that.
The military was a sacred place, they said. Our soldiers, sailors, and airmen were heroes who deserved our unwavering support. If anyone dared question a military conflict our country was involved in, that would be the same as not supporting the troops, they warned.
Well, times have certainly changed.
Politico reports that after Republicans take over the House next year they’re ready to go after alleged “wokeness” being thrust on the military by the Biden administration. Yes, according to the GOP, the greatest fighting force in the world just can’t do its job properly because of all the terrible ideas the Democrats are pushing.
