As the Republican Party and its Right-wing media mouthpieces step over the dead bodies of 19 elementary school children and two teachers slain in a mass shooting at a Texas school yesterday, it raises some questions.
Are we too numb from so much unnecessary carnage that we can’t express our outrage anymore?
Are we still ready to scream to high heaven about the GOP’s consistent calculation that dead people, no matter what age or how innocent, don’t tip the scale away from the gun lobby and the National Rifle Association, in whose collective pocket this party of political cowards has sat for so many years?
Have we figured out why “pro-life” doesn’t seem to include keeping kids safe from mass shooters, or properly addressing the 10 million children living in poverty in this country, or the 6.1 million kids living in food-insecure households, or the United States’ infant mortality rate (5.7 per 1,000 live births), which is HIGHER than (you might want to take a deep breath here) the Slovak Republic, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Canada, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary, Latvia, Switzerland, Lithuania, Australia, Germany, Israel, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Ireland, Korea, Spain, the Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Slovenia, Finland, Norway, Japan, Estonia, and Iceland?
And the easiest question: Is the federal government finally going to pass common sense gun laws to help address the epidemic of shootings in our country?
That answer would be no.
The GQP is made up ghouls.
